The Warp Drive Spitfire cutaway grab one now!

Testing the fit in a standard box. Note the clear halo
at the trailing edge.
The printing of the Warp Drive Spitfire Cutaway took  a while to get right, it needed a fairly expensive printer with custom tweaks, not to mention the CAD design of the Bumpy Leading Edge Foil (BLEF) foil itself and designing the internal structure of the fin.

It's a scaled down version of the wooden fin on our 10'6" 'Earl'. The wooden version took about 40 hours to make and rides very well indeed.

Testing in the water, the difference is an eye opener, and suggests that the tests in other applications such as windmills and propellors re: the 40% increase in efficiency with BLEFs is correct.Since 1994 I've been using the same upright Spitfire elliptical template fins, with a smooth leading edge, in sizes from 8" to 12" for the past 20 years, in boards from 6' to 19', They feel way better than standard Greenough fins.  The introduction of  BLEF, however, just  winds them up even further, with the biggest gains in the zone where other fins lose lift and enter the stall... the BLEF just drives hard and holds in.

The 8" warp drive suits any 70's singlefin, longboard, bonzer, or 2+1. Check out our other sizes.

Colors available are Clear as pictured, White and Black, also Royal Blue, Aquamarine and Fluorescent Green.
