Putting the lid on a wooden torsion box surfboard.

For the complete lamination process of the Rampant, assuming one has all the panels glued together and sanded,  one first laminates a frame panel to the deck after placing them on a jig. Then  a second, transverse panel is added. The third frame panel crosses the first, and completes the interior of the surfboard. At this point, the magic of parallel profile concave will become  apparent.

And then it is time to put the lid on it:

Resin is applied to the inside of the bottom, and then the panel is put to one side.

Ziplock technique originally demonstrated by Reuel Parker

The full hull concave showing nicely.

Stop talking now, we're putting the lid on it.

About time to shift a ton of bricks.

This process will eventually end up in the book. At present we have an instruction manual available for sale. Please support this blog by getting yourself a book. There  are hardback editions,
softcover, PDF and even Ipad ebooks. Also check out the full sized plans drawn from templates by Roy Stuart. They are hand drawn on stiff paper, and are what Roy uses himself to make surfboards. All the relevant drawings
are sent, including the individual rocker tempate, the planshape in bold, the lines to where the blocking has to be cut, the rail profile and the fin template and positions.

Of course if you have plenty of money, and can't be bothered with building one, buy a million dollar surfboard and experience the difference for yourself.
