Rampant 10-3 uses three internal frame panels., Because the board has a fairly tight curve in the nose rocker, the panels must be thin enough to bend to the curve, so three are used instead of the usual two. The central panel, which is on the neutral axis, has the frames and blocks running directly across the board. There are 180 pieces in this panel and over 500 pieces in the entire board.
The bandsaw is now set up for cutting the bevel on the panel which is beneath the deck. Due to the taper of the downrail the blocks must run further into the board, and they are bevelled to meet the narrower blocks of the neutral axis panel.
Blocks and frames for each panels are first cut and dry fitted. Because the structure 'creeps' fore and aft during the gluing process the nose and tail pieces are fitted after the rest are glued. Here the gluing process is underway, working from the middle of the board towards the nose and tail.
Finally, the nose and tail sections are added.
